SILVERTREE END OF SERVICE FAQ

After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue our service, effective October 15, 2024. Below you'll find more information and a recommendation for another provider who offers similar services.

This was not an easy choice, and we deeply appreciate the trust you have placed in us. Over the years, it has been our mission to provide a reliable and innovative Personal Emergency Response System (PERS) to support you and your loved ones. We are incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together and we deeply regret we will not be able to carry this mission forward.

We understand this transition may cause inconvenience, and we want to support you and your loved ones to make alternative arrangements. Here's what you need to know:

How will my services be impacted leading up to the shutdown?

Your Silvertree service will continue to operate as expected until October 15, 2024. As of today's date, October 1, 2024, we will no longer be collecting any subscription payments for active subscribers.

When will my service be terminated?

Services will be terminated on October 15, 2024 at 9:00 am EST. On this date you will no longer have access to your Silvertree App and the Reach will no longer work. All services associated with your Silvertree subscription, including access to our 24/7 call center, will also cease to operate at this time.

I still need the services that Silvertree is discontinuing, what other products with similar capabilities would you recommend we consider?

Silvertree has negotiated a special promotion [$5 off monthly monitoring + free fall detection, a $15 monthly savings or $180 annual savings] with Medical Guardian for all Silvertree customers being impacted by our termination of services. All Silvertree customers who are interested in signing up with Medical Guardian should call 1‑800‑406‑5763 and mention code SILVERTREE, or purchase online using THIS LINK.

What should I do with my Silvertree device?

The Silvertree Reach contains electronic components and a battery, which should not be disposed of with regular household waste. To maintain our commitment to environmental responsibility, we recommend the following steps for proper disposal:

  • Electronic Recycling Programs: Many local municipalities offer electronic recycling programs where you can safely dispose of your device. Check with your local government or recycling center for specific drop-off locations.
  • Retailer Take-Back Programs: Some electronics retailers (such as Best Buy or Staples) may accept small electronic devices for recycling.
  • Mail-In Recycling Programs: If local options are not available, there are mail-in recycling services that specialize in electronics disposal. Be sure to wipe any personal data from the device if applicable.

By recycling your Silvertree Reach, you help reduce electronic waste and contribute to a healthier environment. Thank you for taking the extra step to responsibly dispose of your device.

What happens to my data?

On October 15, 2024 all account information and personal data will be deleted, except for such data that is reasonably needed in order to comply with our legal and contractual obligations or such data that is required to be kept in accordance with applicable laws.

What if I believe I have a claim against Silvertree?

In connection with the wind-down of our company, we will be reconciling all claims. Allowed claims will be paid pro-rata from available funds in order of statutory priority. We do not anticipate that there will be sufficient funds for payment in full of all our claims. To submit a claim, please fill out this form.

What if I have other questions?

You can email us at support@silvertree.io, but please note that our response time may be slow as we are experiencing a high volume of emails. We will do our best to get back to you in the order in which your message was received.
